General Summary

We are looking for a dynamic, creative marketing leader to spearhead marketing for our B2B/Liquidation.com marketplace. This position demands a marketer with a strong background in digital and social media marketing. The ideal candidate will be adept in these areas with liquidation industry experience and bring an understanding of marketing analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Drive buyer engagement to fuel increased volume and recovery
    • New buyers
    • Increased engagement from existing buyers
  • Research and Analysis
    • Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, demand patterns, and competitive landscape specific to the reverse logistics and liquidation industry.
    • Identify potential customers and target audiences.
  • Strategy
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop marketing strategies aligned with business goals.
    • Create a comprehensive marketing plan that addresses the unique needs of business buyers seeking bulk merchandise.
  • Brand Positioning and Messaging
    • Articulate our brand’s value proposition within the industry.
    • Craft clear and compelling messaging that resonates with potential buyers.
  • Program Management
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing program that addresses the unique needs of business buyers seeking bulk merchandise.
    • Cultivate a marketing media mix that incorporates earned, owned, and paid media.
    • Drive integrated marketing campaigns using multiple communication outlets; everything from radio, print, experiential, grassroots, out of home offline tactics to current digital marketing best practices of geo-targeted local advertising through programmatic ad networks and social media platforms.
    • Implement public relations, partnership and sponsored events whenever applicable
    • Plan, coordinate, and direct marketing efforts across various channels (digital, social media, print, etc.).
    • Create business to business content specifically for marketplace website(s), social media, email, and mobile channels.
  • Budgeting
    • Understand and manage marketing budgets
    • Monitor and manage expenditures within return on advertising investment targets.
  • Performance Management
    • Synthesize marketing analytics data across transactional and behavioral KPIs in collaboration with a centralized analytics team.
    • Leverage data-driven insights to refine marketing campaigns.
    • Monitor marketing KPIs (conversion rates, lead quality, etc.) and adjust strategies as needed.
    • Provide regular reports to senior management on marketing performance.
    • Analyze and integrate data spanning both transactional and behavioral key performance indicators (KPIs), in partnership with a centralized analytics team. Collaborate to develop and adopt innovative tracking techniques aimed at improving metrics related to the acquisition and retention of marketplace participants and adjusting strategies as necessary to meet evolving needs.
  • Cross Functional Collaboration
    • Collaborate heavily with centralized corporate marketing, product and customer service teams to ensure tightly cohesive marketing campaigns that delight participants at all touchpoints.
    • Partner with Sales, Warehouse Operations, Product and Analytics teams to continually optimize the customer experience online and offline.
    • Liaise with other departments to align marketing efforts with organizational goals.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • College degree highly preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience is required
  • Proven success growing online ecommerce and/or auction marketplaces, preferably in the retail liquidation or surplus sectors - ideally B2B
  • Comfortable working with a centralized marketing team while also being autonomous to explore local marketing tactics independently to grow the brand.
  • Experience working with mainstream CMS and email platforms (WordPress, HubSpot, etc.)
  • Experience with Google Analytics and the Google Ad networks.
  • Experience with Sprout Social or similar social media management platforms.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Photoshop etc.) is a plus.
