    GovDeals is the leading online auction marketplace for the sale of surplus and confiscated items for local and state government entities including city, county and state agencies as well as school boards and public utilities. GovDeals is positioned to aggressively and effectively serve local and state government surplus programs nationally through its growing team of regionally based sales and client service representatives.     In response to the continued growth of their business, GovDeals is looking for a Marketing Assistant to join their team in Montgomery, Alabama. The successful candidate will market specific assets on behalf of GovDeals’ state and local government clients. He/she will drive the dollar amount of online auctions running on GovDeals.com.

    Responsibilities

    * Prepare marketing materials for distribution through different marketing channels
    * Respond to marketing requests from the Sales and Client Services teams
    * Design newspaper and print advertisements
    * Write Press Releases
    * Post online ads
    * Assist with specific marketing campaigns and customer outreach
    * Contact publications to gather editorial and advertising information

    Qualifications

    * Overall computer proficiency within a Windows environment
    * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    * Telephone etiquette
    * Organized and independent working habits
